All GOP candidates in a contested race who will appear on a Spartanburg ballot have been asked to participate. The doors will open at 6 p.m. for the public to meet the candidates and pick up their materials. Tony Beam, radio talk show host of Christian Worldview will moderate the debate, with Andrew Doughmann of the Spartanburg Herald Journal and Bob Dill of the Greenville Times Examiner serving as the panelists. The event is free and open to the public.
Media has also been invited.
The contested races for the primary ballot that will be debating are Senate Districts 5 and 12 and House Districts 35 and 37. The other candidates, who are non-opposed will not be debating, but there will be tables around the room in the back for you to have your materials for the public to take.

The Convention will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Carolina Coliseum located at 701 Assembly Street in Columbia, South Carolina. Registration for delegates and alternates will begin at 8:30AM, and the Convention will convene promptly at 10:00AM.
